Attorney Maureen Kroll
“As a Westmoreland County attorney and a lifelong resident, I take special pride offering legal services to my community. Part of being a good lawyer is being a good listener. And, I believe that listening to the needs of my clients, as well as the needs of the community, is key to providing quality legal services."
Meet Maureen
Welcome to my website. Let me tell you my story.
My first job when I was in high school was on the teen board of JCPenney in the Greengate Mall, Greensburg, PA. We did modeling and promotions but mainly worked the floor restocking and ringing up the purchases for the patrons. While doing this job, I attended the University of Pittsburgh and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing as a summa cum laude graduate.
Next, I was awarded a Master's degree as a Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist and earned a University Scholar distinction.
For the next 15 years, I was head nurse of the intensive care unit, and then Director of Nursing/Assistant Administrator all at the Monsour Medical Center. During my last few years at the facility, while working fulltime, I attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Altogether, I've spent 46 years as a registered nurse.
For the next 31 years, I have served Westmoreland County and surrounding counties addressing their legal needs for Divorce, Custody, Estates, Wills, Elder Law, Bankruptcy, Disability, Guardianship, Personal Injury, and Real Estate needs.
I have always had a strong commitment to giving back to my Bar Association but also to my community. My past Board involvement has been with the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
I am very active with the Jeannette Business Association and was a founding member of C.H.A.T., a Community Health Awareness Team, which prior to the internet, provided educational programs to hundreds of organizations on health related topics.
Later, as an attorney and before internet popularity, I spoke to many organizations on legal topics.
Pro Bono Attorney of the Year
Pro Bono work has been so important to my legal career. I have committed from day one to provide Pro Bono services in the area of child Custody to those who have nowhere to turn and no funds to seek help for their Custody issues.
I am often asked if I miss being a nurse. I still maintain my nursing license, but I have always felt that as a nurse and now as a lawyer, I continue to help people through their worst of times.
I want to make your life better and make it less stressful when faced with serious problems in your life. My approach is to look at the entire family as a unit. Financial issues, custody, divorce, death, caring for the elderly are intertwined. My approach is to look at the entire family unit. I have practiced in all of those areas for over 31 years and can help you untangle the issues and reach real solutions to your legal concerns. I would really love to hear from you to start addressing your problems.
I have served as Chairman of our Family Law Committee for a decade and have lectured for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
I currently serve on the Westmoreland County Bar Foundation Board of Directors and as President Elect of the Westmoreland County Bar Association. I will serve as President in April 2023.
